Well…I am a little bit behind on Ethan’s fourth month update. I’ve had it saved in draft, but haven’t had time to publish it. So, here is his update.
I’m so excited about all of the new things Ethan is doing! He recently had his four month shots, which he took very well. But, this time was a little different than his two month shots. He was so groggy and cranky for longer, this time. It was sad to see his personality change from a generally happy baby to crabby and tuckered out. We got through it in about three days, though, and he is now back to his usual happy self.
He is now trying out solid foods and loves them! His absolute favorite is the sweet potatoes. I even tried them to see why he seemed to like them so much and they were good. They aren’t as bland as some of the other foods, so I think that is the reason for him liking them so much. Also, I have decided to try my hand at making his baby food. Although, I can read the ingredients on the package, I just know they might be sneaking in something that I don’t know about (paranoid, much?). Anyhoo, I am going to find some free time, which I have loads of (sarcasm) and make my boy some healthy, organic baby food.
Another new milestone he has made is that he can now roll over and push him self up. He has always like to grab towards my shirt and anything shiny, but now he can actually hold his toys. When he is laying on his tummy, he tries to reach for them and pull them towards him.
His love for shiny things and bright colors has now transferred to football games. Unfortunately, he will not be able to escape the sound of college football in our house on Saturdays. But, fortunately, for his Dad and “Paw Paw”, he loves to watch football. I think that it is the bright green field and colors that he is attracted to. We recently took him to our first high school football game and he was mesmerized. It was very loud, but he wasn’t bothered by the noise as much as I thought he would be.
We also went on his first trip to Disney World in his fourth month and he loved it. I’m sure we were more excited than he was, but the memories are what we’re going for. He was the easiest baby to take to Disney World and I’m sure my planning helped the process go smoother. It was an amazing experience that we’ll never forget and we will have lots of pictures to look back and remember.
Now off to make more memories!!
